Today is a special day for the civil aviation of the Republic of Kosovo, since as was announced earlier by the Minister of MESPI (Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure) Mr. Liburn Aliu, after a lengthy process, the air routes through the two navigation points (fixes) ARBER and KUKAD, on the border with Albania, have finally been published, formalized and made flight plannable. As of today, these two fixes have started to be used by airlines in their flight plans and they will be used to coordinate commercial traffic between ANSA of Kosovo and AlbControl of Albania.
On this occasion, the friend of the CAA and Kosovo, the Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Mr. Matthias Conrad together with his associate Mr. Kushtrim Nimani – Economic Affairs Official For at the Embassy, paid a courtesy visit to the CAA today to express his joy and continued support in this process.
At this meeting, the Acting Director of the CAA, Mr. Alban Ramabaja, with associates had the pleasure of confirming to Mr. Conrad that from today the flights through these air routes have started to be carried out with regular flight plans, and at the same time he expressed his gratitude to him for his and the German country’s great contribution in this very important process for Kosovo.
Mr. Conrad said that his country, as in many other processes, will further support Kosovo in the process of opening air routes with other countries in the region, where the next step is the opening of air routes with Montenegro.
The parties agreed to monitor developments in this regard and to continue further cooperation towards the normalization of the lower airspace of the Republic of Kosovo.
