These aircraft are usually referred to as \u201cEASA aircraft\u201d since European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is responsible for their certification in the territory of the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>Some categories of aircraft do not fall under the mandatory EU rules. They are usually referred to as \u201cAnnex II aircraft\u201c based on Annex II to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/caa.rks-gov.net\/en\/1\/regulation-03-2009-on-the-common-rules-in-the-field-of-civil-aviation-and-responsibilities-of-the-european-aviation-safety-agency\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Regulation No. 03\/2009<\/span><\/a> (EC Reg. 216\/2008) defining the categories of these aircraft.
